Python was one of the first open source programming languages - you have never needed to purchase a licence for the interpreter or runtime.   This presentation, in the form of a hands-on tutorial, will provide end-to-end instruction for programming in Python.  While no programming experience is required, we are going to cover beginner and advanced concepts in Python journeying from script-kiddies through to professional application development.

If you aren't a developer, or you're simply curious about the Python ecosystem and tools, you're sure to find something of interest in this lightning journey across the Python landscape.

Speaker Bio

Alan Milligan, our FOSS Convenor, has been programming in Python for over fifteen years.  Most of his company's solutions are Python focused.   Having a computer science background and being quite a programming language polyglot, this topic is one of Alan's personal favourites!
