Ever since it's first release in February 2012, the Raspberry Pi has been taking the embedded world by storm - not the least because it can be purchased for under $40.00.  Low-voltage ARM-based systems are garnering massive interest in the datacentre marketplace too as the major expenditure is on electricity charges.

Come along to this presentation to discover the Raspberry Pi, the wide range of uses which it's being applied, and of course, how to purchase and get started with your own Raspberry Pi.

For advanced Linux users and developers, there will also be a fairly in-depth discussion about how to build your own Raspberry Pi images, hardware extensions, and API's.

Alan Milligan is the SIG convenor and Principal Architect at Last Bastion Network.  Alan has been building and deploying Enterprise Linux Standard Operating Environments for many years and has recently focused the BastionLinux toolchain upon support for ARM and Raspberry Pi.
